Coolest Places to Go On a College Budget

Traveling when you’re young is kind of a double edged sword. Everyone says you have to do it, yet nobody ever gives you the funds to do it. Typically, those people are usually right. Traveling when your in college in an absolute must. You get to experience different cultures, countries, and open yourself up to a world outside of what you’re used to.

Don’t get too discouraged, there are plenty of places you can visit that won’t break the bank as much as you would think. Here are some of the coolest places you can visit while living on a college budget.

Alaska:

A favorite for hitchhikers and explorers, in Alaska you can get a hotel bed for $30. The hotel may cost you a bit more, but with flights at only $200 as well as cheap food, this is probably one of the best places to go on a budget.

Colombia: 

Similarly to Alaska, Colombia is a land meant for explorers and with an amalgam of exotic excursions to embark on. For as little as $300 you can go to Colombia and pick up a bed for only $15. What a bargain!

Brazil: 

For just $400 round trip you can travel to the home of beautiful white sand beaches, and immerse yourself in the bright and fun culture of Brazil. Carnival may arguably be the best time to visit, considering it’s one of the biggest parties of the year (and the world).

Montreal:  

You can’t beat $400 flights and $40 hotel rooms, especially not in a big city like Montreal. Similar to many American cities, Montreal has a vibrant night life and a nearly unlimited amount of free things to do.

Greece: 

For as low as $700 you can travel to Greece and experience white sand beaches and some of the most beautiful historical sites in the world. Considering its in Europe the price of $20 per day is relatively cheap compared to high rolling destinations like England and France.
