Ebola virus fears have officially risen even higher as a passenger aboard a flight from Lagos to New York City died in his seat after vomiting profusely. CDC and Port Authority boarded the Arik Air plane with 145 passengers after the man had died and confirmed that his condition was not in fact due to having the deadly Ebola virus.

The 63-year-old, who is a U.S. citizen, boarded the flight from Nigeria to JFK on Wednesday night, but passed away before the plane reached its final destination. The CDC however, only ran a ‘cursory’ test on the man to conclude that he didn’t have the virus. So, a lot of people, including New York Congressman Peter King are concerned that the CDC may actually be wrong. Especially given the mishaps that have happened with contained the virus thus far.

According to the New York Daily News, the man, who was traveling alone, also suffered chest pains before he died. This morning, a Port Authority source said he passed away of an apparent heart attack, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Following his death, the U.S. citizen’s body was handed over to the Port Authority who removed it from the plane, with the CDC allegedly providing little information on how to deal with the remains.
