Cowboys Fall from 1st spot to 4th
Jerry Jones isn’t gonna be happy about this. According to a recent survey, the Dallas Cowboys are no longer America’s favorite team. That honor now belongs to the Denver Broncos.
The Harris Poll, which surveyed 2,543 adults, 1,275 of whom said they followed professional football, was taken from September 10th-17th. The Dallas Cowboys, who, despite their 10+ years of sustained mediocrity, have claimed the top spot in this yearly survey for the past 6 years, have been dethroned by a team who has had far more recent success, and is quarterbacked by one of the great QBs of all time, not to mention one of the most likable guys in all of American sports, despite his massive forehead.
The New York Giants claimed the number 2 spot in the poll, with the Green Bay Packers at number 3, the Cowboys coming in 4th, and the Pittsburgh Steelers at number 5. The defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks finished 6th, and the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints round out the top 10.
