During your time of the month, your body will cause you a slew of issues. It might choose to stain your favorite jeans, ruin your plans to go to the beach, or cancel your nighttime plans with your boyfriend. When the latter occurs, it leaves you both feeling unsatisfied and overwhelmingly unhappy. Of course, it doesn’t have to be that way. When you’re itching to get intimate, here’s what you can do:

  1. Build Up Anticipation

You might not be comfortable having sex on your period, but Mother Nature can’t stop you from thinking about it. This is the time to have phone sex with your partner, or send him scandalous pictures. Do whatever you can to build up the anticipation so you can do it like rabbits once the week is over.

  1. Learn New Moves

Your period is the perfect time for a little Internet research. If you can’t stop thinking about sex, look online for tips to better your performance in the bedroom. By the time you’re ready to strip naked again, you’ll have plenty of new information stored in your noggin to enhance his pleasure. Of course, you should tell him that you’ve been studying so he’ll do the same. It’s not fair for him to reap all of the rewards.

  1. Enjoy Time with Yourself

Your boyfriend might cringe at the sight of blood, but you’re used to it. As long as you have your underwear or some sort of fabric in between you and your skin, there’s no reason not to pleasure yourself. You deserve it, and you can probably make yourself feel better than any man ever could.

  1. Be as Productive as Possible

Sexual frustration is, well, frustrating. If you’re not planning on getting intimate, then you might as well use your energy for something productive. Write that poem you’ve been planning on creating, or head to the gym for a workout. Do anything you can to distract yourself.

  1. Kiss without Any Intentions

Remember when you first started dating your boyfriend and would make-out for hours without it leading to anything? Well, it’s time to revisit that. When sex is off the table, you and your boyfriend will be able to connect over things that aren’t physical. It’s refreshing to know that every kiss isn’t a transition toward sex.

  1. Just do It

Getting dirty on your period isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be. As long as you have some towels beneath you, and let your man do all of the work while on top, you should be fine. Yes, there will be blood, but it shouldn’t faze you by now. If you’re comfortable, and your partner is comfortable, then you shouldn’t let a stigma stop you.
