After 12 Years, Red Bull No More Effective Than a Cup of Coffee
Turns out, after 12 years, Red Bull is no more effective than a cup of coffee, despite a well-known, aggressive campaign featuring their slogan, “Red Bull Gives you Wings,” which you’ve probably seen on cars driving around NYC distributing free cans. Evidently, it’s this very slogan that has been misleading consumers for so long, leading people to believe that the drink increased performance and concentration.
The Austrian company agreed to settle with American consumers in a $13 million settlement, which is yet to be approved by the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York. According to law firm Morelli Alters Ratner, the agreement makes anyone who consumed a Red Bull between January 1, 2002 and October 3rd, 2014 eligible for–wait for it–either a whopping $10 cash or $15 dollars worth of Red Bull products, whatever that may be.
Many Red Bull consumers may be thinking, “$10?!” Who can blame them, when for over a decade millions of customers have been paying $4 or more for a $2 black-coffee value.
So, if you want a little compensation or just rage-induced revenge, go out and fill out a claim form here, even if you don’t have a receipt.
