Al Walsh’s Week 5 NFL Picks For Sunday Night Football
Season Record: 10-12-2
Last Week: 3-2 (Wins: IND -8, GB -2, SF -4.5 … Losses: NYJ -2, NO -3)
ST.LOUIS +7 (buy to +8) over Philadelphia
Philly’s O-line has been decimated by injuries thus far but they welcome the return of 2013 first-round pick, Lane Johnson. However, that won’t be enough for the Birds to cover in this one. The D-line of St. Louis is one of the best in the business and they will make this a close game.
Overall, Philly has more talent on offense and that could be the difference in the end. The scary thing for the 3-1 Eagles is LeSean McCoy hasn’t even gotten going yet. He should get into the endzone this week based on everything evening out over the course of the season.

NY Giants -4 (buy to +3) over Atlanta
This line stinks of a Giants win, so let’s get ourselves a big whiff of this goodness. Eli Manning looked awesome the last two weeks and it seems like he and the rest of the Giants’ offense have this thing figured out.
I don’t think this is a case where we are jumping on a team when they are hot, it also has something to do with the lack of production the Falcons have outdoors. These guys are a different team outside of the Georgia Dome as they have only won once in their last ten road games. This team is a hot mess right now and it’ll show on Sunday.

SAN FRANCISCO -6.5 (buy to -5.5) over Kansas City
This is my favorite play of the week for a few reasons:
- San Francisco still hasn’t played that flawless 60-minute game yet this season; this is a very talented team that can win the Super Bowl.
- The jury is still out on KC- they had a big win against New England last week on Monday night and everyone is gushing over them. Remember this is a team that got smoked by Tennessee at home in Week 1.
- Almost 80% of the public has gone with KC, I’ll go the other way…

NY JETS +7.5 (buy to +8) over San Diego
We’ll keep the New York theme going this week with a big upset I’m calling for. Yes, I’m saying the New York Jets will walk right into San Diego and put it on them. The Jets are a desperate 1-3 team right now and can do some things that will give the Bolts trouble- running the ball and playing tight defense.
San Diego is on its 3rd running back, Donald Brown, and he’s not producing well at all. This will make them one-dimensional allow the Jets to tee-off on some of these smaller Chargers receivers. Geno finally gets it done, but it won’t be pretty.

NEW ENGLAND +1 over Cincinnati
I have no idea what’s going on with Tom Brady and the Patriots but it certainly isn’t good. However, “being terrible” just means that New England is 2-2. I can’t imagine that Brady was a happy camper this week, so that means 24-7 prep work probably went into this game.
This line actually started out favoring the Pats at around -3 but their horrible Monday night performance has scared everyone off this week. Brady does his best Aaron Rodgers impression and tells everyone to “R-E-L-A-X.”
