Al Walsh’s Pick For Thursday Night Football
Season Record: 7-9-2
Last Week: 0-5 (ouuuuuuch)
Well, it finally happened since I started doing this column two years ago – I had a Goose Egg Sunday. This is the first time in the short history of this column that I haven’t picked a winner one single game. It’s quite a humbling feeling, but when you’re picking NFL games you can never dwell on the past- good or bad. I hit the books harder than ever this week and I’m ready to go for Sunday. However, there’s a game tonight and I’m a big fan of the home team in this one…
WASHINGTON -3 over NY Giants
Kirk Cousins finally has the Redskins’ offense looking like it was supposed to. Last week against Philly, Cousins threw for over 400 yards en route to leading the team to 34 points. Unfortunately for them, Nick Foles had a great day too and led his team to 37 points. The Redskins have a NFL-best 75 points in the last two games and I look for that to continue tonight.
The Giants typically don’t put up that many points but they had somewhat of a breakout game against Houston in Week 3. Eli looked good but this is an offense that parallels drying paint. Washington’s defense, mainly their front seven, has played unbelievably well and they will be the difference tonight.
On Thursday night games so far this season, the home team is 3-0 and outscoring the opposition by over 20 PPG. The Skins have more weapons and talent on both sides of the ball and they should take care of business tonight….
REDSKINS 27 Giants 19
