Feeling down? Or bored? Or just plain meh in general? I think sometimes we all need to feel like we have something to look forward to, no matter how distant or abstract it is. Here are a couple of things to brighten anyone’s day and give us all something to look forward to.

Christmas

No matter what time of year it is, Christmas is bound to come by again sooner or later and when it does, it will be awesome. It’s really hard to feel down at Christmastime, what with all the lights and the caroling and the decorations. Not to mention, just talking to a little kid about Christmas is bound to cheer anyone up.

Your Next Day Off

Even if it’s in a week from now, you’re going to get a day off. Just think about it- you will be able to sleep in, eat all day, and catch up on all the shows and movies you have been dying to see on Netflix.

Your Birthday

Forget about what age you’re turning and whether or not you’re depressed or not, either way it’s your birthday; you get to do whatever you want and get congratulated all day. For that whole 24 hours, everyone wishes you happiness. What’s better than that?

Getting a Puppy

Hey, maybe one day you will be able to buy yourself an adorable little puppy. That’s really exciting, right? And if not a puppy, then perhaps a cat…or, if you’re allergic to hair, then maybe a cute little goldfish. Either way, it’s something to look forward to.

Seeing Your Family

At some point, you will be able to go give your mom a visit, or your sister or brother or second cousin. If you’re not close with your family members, then just substitute this with your best friends. You’ll be able to catch up with them and spend time hanging out sooner or later and that is pretty cool.

Going to Sleep

No matter what time of day it is, getting into bed and going to sleep is always something to look forward to.

Treating Yourself

At some point coming up, you will have a little extra money and time to buy yourself some chocolate covered strawberries, or take yourself out to lunch, or even get your nails and hair done. And, man, it will feel good because you have worked for it and you deserve it.

Going on a Date

Don’t roll your eyes with me; it will happen. Whether it’s a new love interest or your partner of years, you will go on a romantic date at some point in the future and it will be just lovely.

The Rest of your Life

Come on, there is still so many awesome things left to happen. The ones I’ve mentioned are just the tip of a very deep and amazing iceberg.
