According to The New York Times, just eight months after leaving political office, Michael Bloomberg is heading back to his; Bloomberg LP that is. The former Mayor of New York is reportedly going back to lead the company he founded, Bloomberg LP. Bloomberg told The New York Times that his move back wasn’t actually intentional. He says that he didn’t plan on going back to the company, but he has found himself in the offices more and more in recent months.

Bloomberg owns 88% of Bloomberg LP, however the CEO of the company is Daniel Doctoroff. As Bloomberg announced his intentions to come back, Doctoroff is planning to step aside by the end of 2014.

Bloomberg told The Times, “I have gotten very involved in the company again and that led to Dan coming to me recently to say he thought it would be best for him to turn the leadership of the company back to me. It was a gracious and thoughtful offer and one that I finally accepted after significant pushback and great reluctance.”

Both Bloomberg and Doctoroff insist that there are no hard feelings.
